Held Rededication/Thanksgiving Service At The Christ Church Interdenominational, Port Harcourt

It was refreshing in His presence on 25th June 2023 when SWIT-Rivers members came out to say “God, thank you” for thus far you have led us. Having gone through an election and a successful change of baton of the Executives, the chapter felt it was necessary to rededicate themselves afresh unto Him who has made it possible.

The Vicar in charge, Revd. Michael prayed and presented them to God for a fresh anointing, safekeeping and empowerment for greater exploits.

Held a Radio Enlightenment Program

SWIT Rivers held a Radio Enlightenment Program on 24/8/23, targeted at the Nano, small & medium size enterprises on the Wave 91.7 FM Port Harcourt. The team led by facilitated by the State Coordinator, Dame Eunice Odum, PhD, FCTI spoke on the benefits of Business Registration, Financing and statutory obligations (Taxes) Compliance. It was a 30-minute discussion program aimed at educating the Petty Traders and SMEs on the right way to start & grow businesses & obligations that must be complied with to operate safely & be a “going concern”

On 14 September 2023, the SWIT Rivers chapter paid a courtesy visit to the Accountant General of
River State, Dr Uche Ideozu, FCA and the Director of Treasury of the State to inform them of the SWIT Enlightenment Programs & also solicit Financial Assistance to enable the chapter to carry out other activities on the action plan. The team was warmly received, and the AG promised his support.

The society of Women in Taxation was formally inaugurated on 7th May 2010 as an arm of the Chartered institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) with a view to serving as an umbrella body of the female members of the Institute and to meet the yearnings and aspirations of women for recognition as a force to reckon with on Tax policy issues.
